Site is up for those with propagated DNS.

The forum is up and running now, the DNS on our side has been updated to reflect the new IP however it may take up to 48 hours for the DNS updates to fully propagate throughout the internet.

If you can access WBB, please report any bugs and errors.

Downtime, changing DNS.

Hello all,

We had some unexpected downtime today when the DC decided to pull a network maintenance without informing us. We’ve now had to switch over to a new set of IPs and thus requires a DNS change. This will also affect a number of WBB related services which we will be updating to reflect this new IP change.

The new IP is 119.42.146.34 for those eager to get onto it ASAP with the good ol’ host file trick.

Issues with memory

The site is down due to issues with memory usage. This is being resolved. The site should be fully operational in 10 minutes. Thanks for your patience.

DNS issue resolved

Our DNS servers experienced downtime, which resulted in temporary disconnectivty for our members. The nameservers have been restarted to restore them to operational status. The DNS issues have been resolved and members should be able to browse our forums normally. The quickest way to get back access to WBB is to refresh your DNS cache to get the server IP again.

We regret the inconveniece caused due to the downtime.

Resolving connectivity issues

If you receive the subsequent message when you connect to warez-BB, it indicates that you’ve an outdated DNS record.

Dear members,
We're in the midst of a server migration. The new server is the server we ordered earlier this week. This migration will take roughly 5 hours.
Please make sure you check our blog at blog.warez-bb.org for updates.

Corrective action

To fix this, you need to update your DNS server. The IP addresses of the DNS servers are available in the subsequent site.

http://www.opendns.com/

As an opendns user, you have an option to signup at opendns.com to regulate access to content resolved by the DNS server. This is an additional step and is not required to access warez-bb.

Steps to setup OPENDNS on different devices is available here

N.B. If you can access Warez-BB without the error message mentioned above, this blog post is not applicable to you.

Fixing posting bug.

We’re in the midst of fixing a posting bug. It is due to our database reaching the hard limit of Medium init at 16,777,215. This limit is imposed by choosing medium init as the field type of the post_id. We have experienced this before and we will be fixing this.

This should not happen until we reach 4,294,967,295 posts which is quite far away.

Posting issues

The ability to make new posts has been currently disabled on warez-BB. This is owing to coding errors in php file. However, members would still be able to edit their old posts and use the search system. The site admin will fix this error once he is online.

We apologize for this invonvenience.

Lighttpd 1.4.22 released yesterday

Yesterday, lighttpd 1.4.22 was released after we anticipated it a few weeks ago. The bugs fixed are insignificant and do not affect us, but since it is good to keep up to date with everything, we’ve updated lighty to the latest just moments ago.

Search down for maintenance.

The search is down for maintenance. There has been reports of a slow search result page, and this is a first step to eliminate hdd performance as part of it’s lag. Search will be down 10min.

Load balancing turned on again.

All this time we have been opterating on one server. Yes one server, though we did experience some high serverloads, the server overall handled the load fine. We have now turned on all of our servers to handle the load. This should result in faster speeds, however this is dependent on the lag bug which I now think is either caused by lack of bandwidth or a configuration error.
