Topic views fixed.

The bug where topic views are lower than the reply count or where topic views do not register into the database has been fixed. This problem is due to an overcrowded memcache server where new entries may push the older entries out. In this case newer memcache entries may push the topic views entries out. We use the memcache server to store the topic views temporarily because of the topic view’s high update nature.

We have now reprogrammed large proportions of the this feature to handle ever increasing number of views.

Memcache servers have also been upgraded to the latest software update – 1.2.7.

Search db rebuilt.

The search should be fully operational again.

Search down for maintenance.

We’re currently rebuilding the search database. Please be patient and wait another 30 minutes after this post for a fully operational search.

Updates to front end services.

We’re mainly upgrading spawn-fcgi in this update. Over the last few months we have seen the transformation of an important piece of code by the Lighttpd devs to spawn-fcgi. We’ll now be updating all of our servers to use their new version.

The downtime should not be lengthy should there be any downtime at all.
