We’re currently down due to a lack of HDD space on our servers, we’re investigating what has sucked up all of the space.

We’re continuously hitting an issue where the server keeps running out of memory. We’ll be increasing the SWAP size soon, but if anyone can help us getting more RAM, that would be great! Send a PM to an Admin if you’re interested (once the site is up again) or contact us via IRC. We will ask you to purchase RAM directly from the seller, as opposed to sending us money, so we aren’t opening donations, per se.

The specific ram we’re looking for is ECC DDR2 Fully Buffered DIMM (FBDIMM) 667 4GB or 8GB.

Our site is now back up. The team is closely monitoring the servers to make sure that nothing unexpected occurs. In the mean time, the team has also identified a few points of improvement with the current server configuration and we will be making those updates within the next few days. These updates shouldn’t mean downtime, but that is not to say, we won’t have additional maintenance downtime.

You would have noticed our site is now substantially faster as a result of the maintenance we performed – the downtime paid off.

We have just finished upgrading the firmware on our RAID controller and, boy, has performance increased! We’re still working on the server, we’re using this time to make sure we do the appropriate upgrades, so that we don’t have to take the site down again for further upgrades like this.
