Server up, site fully operational.

We have reinstalled everything on our server. Things will be fully operational again.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Working on the fixed server.

We have now replaced the failed network card and harddrive on our server. We have also reinstalled the operating system on that server again and are now setting up the software.

Our site seems to be operating rather fast at the moment, but it will be a different story come peak hours.

WBB is up but slow.

We’ve put our server up but our site will be slow because we’re missing a crucial caching server.

HDD error causing downtime

Looks like one of our hdds failed. We are assessing the situation at the moment to see what can be done to get it up and running.

Memcache error due to one of our servers being down.

We’ve sent for a hard reboot on one of our servers that serves memcache requests. Won’t be long before we are back up.

Downtime due to software upgrade.

We’re currently updating our software with the latest security updates.

ETA will be 2 hours from the moment of this entry.

New smiles.

We set out with a goal to redesign the phpBB2’s vanilla smiles for our upcoming upgrade to phpBB3. The reason our Design team set out to redesign it was simple. The two reasons are, we did not like the design of ProSilver smiles and we loved the current (now old) smiles that we were using.

So our Design team set out on the task of freshening them up. Different designs and dimensions were considered and ultimately we settled with the set we have now. You will notice that they are no longer pixelated and feature a lighter and brighter gradient to liven up our lemon styled smiles.

Here is a comparison of the old and new.

New:

Special thanks goes out to Goran, Tom and Evangeline for their hard work.

Email services up.

After a few days without emailing services, we’ve finally had the time to look into this issue deeply and properly configure Exim. Exim is an email daemon that we entrust our emailing with.

Registrations were disabled because our email services were down. It will be re-enabled soon. However, those who did not get their activation emails or any other emails whatsoever will not be receiving any. Therefore, those who registered in the time frame of this downtime will have to re-register. Your old inactive accounts will be pruned.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Moving static server.

We are currently in the process of moving servers from img5 to img6. The process should be seamless with the exception of our blog and support center going down.

This will automatically fix itself once your DNS propagates within the next 48 hours.

Site slow due to DDoS

Our site is down right now due to a small DDoS attack.

ETA on fixing this 1 hour.
